Description
This World War II-era newsreel includes the following segments: 1. President Roosevelt is visited aboard a ship by Ibn-Saud, King of Saudi Arabia; Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia; and King Faruk I of Egypt. 2. Units of the 8th Army, 6th Army (37th Infantry Division), and the 1st Cavalry Division; troops participate in the liberation of Manila; jungle and urban combat, massive fires in the city, captured collaborators, and pro-Allied Philippine guerrillas; General MacArthur inspects a former Japanese prison. 3. French and American representatives discuss U.S. shipments of weapons and supplies to liberated France.
